- What advice do I give someone looking for a store to fit them for a bra? KNOW YOUR MEASUREMENTS! An educated consumer is the best consumer. Ask your fitter questions if you are not sure about the fit. Keep in mind, they are trying you sell you a product (and probably earn themselves a commission).
- When measuring yourself for a bra, the key is to not add inches to your ribcage measurement in order to get the band. All US stores I have been to (except the ones that don't use a measuring tape at all) add 4-6 inches to your ribcage & that is what becomes your band size. This offers no support for your assets- it's like a see-saw- what goes up in the back will go down in the front. DON'T ADD INCHES!!: http://www.thinandcurvy.com/2010/10/how-to-measure-your-bra-size-correct.html
BRA CALCULATORS
There are very few calculators out there that will allow you to plug in your measurements and come up with a size that is close to what you should be wearing. The two following calculators are the best out there so far, and offer a good starting point.
